Im mentioning this Documentary here instead of the Film section as I think its more suited to sports.

Has anyone watched this film about Steroid use in people down the gym, and Professional sportsmen/women?

Its pretty unbiased but admittedly it does shed a positive light on Steroid use in some places.

If anyone hasnt seen it, watch it here on youtube to start..

Watched it the other night, brilliant documentary. Give props to the guy that did it, tackling a subject with his family bang in the middle of it.

Yeah I remember the image it portrayed of Swarzenegger: Conniving, two-faced egotistic jerk. I always hated him.

Finished watching this today, really great documentary.

My position on steroids is unchanged (not that it was the aim of the film to change it...), I'm not going near the stuff.

Thanks for the powerlifting film Darryl!

Wow, very interesting documentary.

A friend was talking recently about how he used to take steroids and I was shocked to say the least and wouldn't believe him straight away. Admittedly I met him after he stopped both steroids and the gym. He was so blazé about it, very similar to those in the documentary and had studiously read up on the health effects.

He said that come summer, he'll probably start on them again. Cant say I wasn't momentarily intrigued, but personally it's something I cant ever see myself doing.

Surprises me how small these guys are, even when taking steroids. I guess it's not the magic ticket to size and strength.

Would still never touch them. Ever.

Seen this years ago.

Following on from my recent thread, I use to be totally against them but the drive to be bigger, leaner, stronger just pushes you into fascination and a fair bit of Googling. If they were easy to come by and not so expensive online I'm sorry to say I might've perhaps had to fight myself from dabbling with the non oestrogen effect variants.

Pretty scary thought, knowing the health hazards and the potential risk to my relationship(other half would tell me to bugger off if she found out).

I think they are carrying quite a bit of muscle but as with most powerlifters they do tend to carry quite a bit of fat too. I know someone who is doing steroids and he is very big with a very low body fat, looks like he's ready to jump on stage and compete even though he doesn't.
