Time for some opinions!

Ignoring noise factor, I'd like some recommendations on the best air coolers in the market today.

To fit i7 920, on a P6T board.

Thanks!

The most sensible purchase is probably the TRUE with a push pull fan config. There is a great variety of fans you can use, from deltas (way too loud) to noctua fans (nice and quiet too).

Jesus christ, £95...

Ok, lets say between £40-50 range. I thought it wouldnt be as easy as "the more expensive the better", lol.

Prolimatech megahalems is probably the best out there and if you dont care about noise, strap on a couple of delta fans :)

Ignoring noise factor eh :D

The pansy fans sold for home and office use have to be quiet so they spin slowly and move air quite gently.

Serious fans are for moving AIR and dam the noise. A Delta is about as close to that as you can get to easily fit a computer case.

Megahalems.
Alpenfohn Nordwand and TRUE do very well too.

Hate those Noctua fans.

The TRUE is a pretty good cooler, fits very well on the p6t boards without blocking any ram slots. I have it on a p6t deluxe with ocz reaper ram and theres still room if i ever decide to upgrade to 12gb of ram.

I personally really like my TRUE with 2 fans fitted, but there are better HSF's available, like the Megahalems, and the Nordwand.

As mentioned already, the Megahalems is probably the best air cooler available atm.

Megahalems have a far superior mounting system and better performance than a non lapped True - the Megahalem also fares better using fans with less static pressure.

I've got both and the True is now in the HTPC but both are great coolers.

IFX-14 - as it beats everything above (and sub £100 watercooling loops) and only 43inc (without fans)

thread closed

But don't take my word for it...

linky to it on a P5T

linky TRUE and Megahalem (and anything else worthy)

again wooping all compertition

I was gonna say that! Everyone suggests the Thermalright 120 but the IFX 14 is the same price and that little bit better! I'd say go for that, or on this week only the megahalems, only £42!
