The story so far:

I have posted quite a lot recently regarding my farm and the additions thereto, so I thought it was about time it got some coverage.

Photo 1 (Bedroom):

Farm1.jpg

From left to right we have: Monty (tucked in at the back) who is a dual core 805D@3000MHz. In front of him, on the floor we have Bart who is an Opty 170@2600MHz, on top of him (nekkid) we have Moe (a recent addition) - a 1700XP@2180MHz, next (on the floor we have Maggie who is an X2 3800+@2800MHz. On the desk is another new addition - the XPS [email protected] (core duo) and on the bedside cabinet is Lisa who is a Dothan@1600MHz.

Photo 2 (Living room):

From left to right we have Millhouse who isn't playing ball  (A64 San Diego 4000+), next we have Marge who is an X2 3800+@2500MHz and on the right is the current gaming machine, Homer - an X2 4400+@2600MHz.

Photo 3 (Kitchen):

Last but not least, we have Abe who is an A64 San Dieigo 4000+@2700MHz.

So there you have it - Bigstan's farm.

Millhouse is playing silly buggers just now. He was working fine until I updated the bios and now all I get is "Error Loading Operating System" when I try to boot. I've tried fixboot, fixmbr and various other stuff including reformatting and flashing to an earlier bios - all to no avail.

If anyone can help then please do so (it's a DFI NF4 Lanparty Ultra D, by the way) - there's a bottle of whisky for the first one who helps me sort it out.

Please excuse the mess, I've been getting annoyed at Millhouse all afternoon and enjoying tweaking Moe all evening - he shifts a bit for an old geezer

Congrats, that is truly hardcore! Makes me feel ashamed :p

I have an inkling as to what this could be. I've had this before after flashing BIOSes. I fixed it by changing one of the hard drive settings. Give me an hour or so and I'll reboot and tell you which setting it was.

I tried changing the hard drive access from "auto" to "LBA" and to "large" if that's what you mean but to no avail - if you mean something else then the bottle's your's (if it works ;) ).

Just remember never to tell anyone where you live! :p

Can you actually sleep in your bedroom at night?

I can sleep on the chopper going out to the rig :D

I used to have a 120mm Delta running full tilt on the Opty but it only made about 1 degree difference so I stopped it (never bothered me sleeping).

I switched on the desk fan in photo 1 instead - makes a fair bit of difference.

The last 3 posts of yours have all ended in :(

Are you unhappy bigstan?

I've been searching through GD for a thread that isn't utter **** -and failed miserably.

If it wasn't for team 10, I wouldn't be anywhere near the place - thank god you guys are around to keep me interested :)

This one ended with a :)

I guess you just gotta find humour in the GD threads :)
Dont forget it is night time over there so things slow down a lot :(

And we are missing a few of the regulars but we cant talk about that :(

Edit: It might not be your thing but The Motors Section is kind of like GD was when i first ventured down to it

Believe me, I've tried - for months.

I think the main problem as far as I'm concerned is that the poor sods who've been sussed, banned or just wandered off were among the better posters over there and most of them were my friends - some of whom were treated very shabbily by the heirarchy of this place (probably no coincidence).

I'm happy in here, probably because we all have a common interest, but I'm getting bored with OcUK now.

If it wasn't for team 10, I'd probably have scarpered weeks ago - cheer me up guys :(

I find the ones that arnt here any more were a big part of OCUKs backbone and were roll models. I just hope they coem back soon :)

How does one help make bigstan a bighappystan? :p

I would create a parping war with you but im not in any position to do that :p

Feed me whisky (good stuff - none of your cheap crap ;) ).

That's just mad. Insane. Bonkers. Barmy. Utterly Butterly. ...

For my own sanity, I stopped at two rooms and six PCs (only got enough space to run five of them, so the laptop got relegated to a cupboard in the office). I still have PC bits scattered in just about every room of the house bar the bathroom, along with all my other miscellaneous junk I've hoarded over the last 14 years. Note to self - must throw stuff in the bin.

However, I want that new laptop, and I want it now. :p

You'll get a look at it next weekend and you may even be allowed to touch it but it's mine MINE I tell you.

*Cackles wildly*
