Bike GPS + Mount?

Man, nav is expensive!

From what I read the TomTom won't allow me to stream music as well as nav directions to my headset. Do we know of one that does?

I see the Garmin Zumo 390LM comes with a powered mount at £341. Although my current Zumo 500 has never really let me down, I've never really liked it's interface and I think I'd prefer to go to TomTom.

**EDIT** Can you put music onto the TomTom and listen to it through head phones plugged in to it?

Wait, if I buy TomTom Rider V5, I don't get a powered mount unless I buy the Premium version at about £100 more?

The mounts for £60 appear to be for V2. Would they work with V5?

I have the V2, my wife bought it as a birthday present and it came with the bluetooth headset etc. but I was pretty amazed to find the powered dock was extra.

However I can't speak for the V5, maybe they now supply the dock as standard but it's definitely worth confirming this!

I don't understand the extortionate prices for a bike sat nav.

There's such a lot of money to be made if someone came along with a universal mount, power and a decent gps set for bikers for sub £200

Make your own design, talk to garmin or TomTom then create a bussiness plan. Next step would be to go, to Dragons Den. :D

Oh, this talk of powered mounts reminds me... When I originally bought my Rider v2 I had it mounted on an ER-6f. Lots of vibration through the bars. 2 pins hold the spring loaded plate into the mount, one of these vibrated free. I contacted TomTom who sent a replacement mount, but rather than the standard one I had, a new powered one :) Needless to say, I stuck impact adhesive over the end of both pins on the new one and am still using it 3-4yrs later :)
