Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a company for cycle insurance?

I'm after theft away from home and at home with accessories. The bike is a Calibre Two Two V2 (£450) with lights, locks (gold secure), mud guards and cycle computer (£250) the total is around £700.

The bike is currently sat in the front room but will be stored in some kind of plastic outside shed with a d lock concreted into a large bucket or tray under the floor with a hole cut through to secure internally - I assume this counts as an immovable object. At work (main cycling destination) it will be kept in the offices so no risk there.

Thanks

Adam.

some home insurance is ok with bikes, but check the fine print... But, this will only cover bike theft. Specific bike insurance will also cover for personal accident and public liability too, so you're insured like a car, just in case you accidentally hit someone or a car, then you've got a safety net...

I used to use home insurance and British Cycling membership (~£30/yr) for personal liability, but after a claim from my bikes being stored in a shed, they refused to cover them again. Now I use Bikmo for both theft/damage and liability.
