Bike isn't warming up, so it says

Hello,

So I finally passed my test and went out on my CBF500 for about an hour and a half last night, the whole time the temp gauge didn't move very far above cold, only when I got home and stopped did it rise to just under 'just right'. Surely this isn't normal?

it wont get hot when your riding

As in stay around the cold mark the whole time? Other bikes I've been on have only had 'I'm too hot now' lights so I don't know how it's supposed to be.

The bike felt fine to ride, this was the first time I rode it though so I'm not sure what its supposed to be like but no obvious issues.

Ok I'll try a new thermostat when I can get around to it, they're only £20 or so.
