I'm aware I might get a few lmgtfy replies, but I'd like to ask a simple question (or two), because when I google it I get too much information to deal with in my slightly inebriated state.

I have a full UK drivers license. What do I now need to do to ride a bike? I'm not super interested in motorbikes, but I'm planning a holiday next year or the year after to Australia. My friend lives in Brisbane and the plan is to ride down the coast. Does anyone with a UK bike/driving license have any experience of this?

The issues in Australia I can deal with, but I'm guessing it all starts with learning to ride a bike over here.

Really greatful for any help. Cheers!

Edit:

Just realised this is in the wrong forum. Could a mod delete this. I'll make a new one in the mother forum. Thanks. Sorry.

Yeah as you've noticed we have a bike forum with a sticky at the top for this.

But basically if you're 24 or over then do your CBT, theory, MOD1 & MOD2 tests.

MOD1 is showing you're competent with off the road manoeuvres and slow speed control.
MOD2 is an hours riding on the road with an examiner behind you.

All the best, biking is super fun :)
