Going Bike Park for the first time in September. Usually I run a Highroller 2 on the front and a Maxxis Ardent 2.4 on the rear. Will i be ok with the ardent on the rear? It struggles in the wet? my options are:

a) stick with the ardent 2.4 if its dry.
b) stick a specialized Butcher or slaughter on the rear. if its wet.
c) buy another tyre.

opinions welcome.

Your current combo will be perfect for any BPW condition.
The majority is hard pack, so fast rolling tyres are great. If you're doing some of the blacks, it's only couple of sections that might need extra grip in the very wet, but I wouldn't buy tyres or change set-up and sacrifice speed elsewhere just for those few shot sections.

I run a Mountain King up front and an Bonty XR3 on the rear and its a perfect setup. However no tyre will save you from the deathtrap that is A470 line

Despite coming off multiple times including breaking a rib on the A470 back in June... I've got no idea where deathtrap comes from, I don't remember any particularly dodgy parts.

I just came off through lack of talent!

The gravel on the track when I rode it two weeks ago was shocking. I went up the lip of a jump and I thought the back tyre had a puncture because it started to wash out going up the lip. Not good at all
