Hi I have some questions.I currently have a good condition well looked after 04 reg Honda hornet 600 stock with 13k on it that I am planning on selling how much would the selling price vary between selling now(Feb) vs spring vs summer time ?

How much at a minimum would you want if you were selling one privately?

Does having a fresh mot really make for a better sell price ?

Are there any car insurance companies who except no claims bonus on motorbikes ?

Thx

sell it springtime when everyone wants a bike to enjoy the sunshine on

see what current hornets are selling for privately with similar milage/condition ect,id only mot it if your ready to sell ect as it expires but would make buyer less worried if it had full mot

I'd say a current MOT might not necessarily affect the selling price, but it will certainly make selling it a lot easier, as that's one thing that potential buyers will look for. A 12 month MOT gives them a little bit of peace of mind.

Have a look on Autotrader for similar spec/year/mileage bikes and work out the price from there. What did you have in mind?

Would 1.8k-2.2k quid at a minimum be about right if I sell in spring with full mot new oil etc ?

How much should I add to price in order to make a bit of a haggle zone ?

Bump
Hi I finally got around to putting my bike up for sale how much should I put the below bike up for because Ive seen them on mcn and priced anywhere between 1600 to 2600 quid wasn't quite sure so just checking ?

2004 Honda Hornet cb600f 1 year Mot, 6 month tax, 14k miles,1 prev owner, good condition, Some service history its assumed that the owner has serviced it themselves at the correct intervals and all the important documentation v5c,mot cert, proof of purchase etc is available.

Thanks

Start on the higher side if you're not in a hurry to get rid of it (I assume you aren't looking at how long it's been between posts), people will try to talk you down and if they really want the bike will get in contact with you and try to negotiate. If you feel you're not getting enough interest you can always reduce the price later on and wait until you get an offer you're happy with.

Have a look on autotrader and gumtree for ones in the same condition/mileage/age and close to you, that'll give you a rough idea - maybe even give a couple a call to see if they've sold, if they haven't and have been up for a while they're probably asking too much money. You're essentially in competition with other bikes for sale like yours, though I'd imagine the hornet is always in demand as a first big bike (probably what I'll be looking for come the time).

A quick look and I reckon 2k minimum if it's in decent nick as it's lowish miles and owners, expect to come down a few hundred with haggling depending how good your poker face is and how nice the bike is.
