Bike Theory Practice Test

you doing your theory soon easyrider? I'm wanting to get this out the way too

I think it's more the hazard perception tests that people fall at

People don't prepare. Most of the questions are quite obvious or just common sense but most you need to know. For example the maximum width of a trailer you can tow, minimum legal tred depth etc.

I'll admit it's not difficult if you prepare properly. I've been driving almost 5 years and spend about a week and a half practising for it, 4 days of which I had a CD I bought from the purple shirts for £11. I passed with 50/50 for the questions in the real thing.

When practising I just set it to maxmium difficulty and not to repeat questions.

I got 50/50 & am Chuffed to bits. :p Cheers for posting the link.

Aaarrrgghhh I lied, I was looking at the fifty questions page, When I clicked finish I got 42/50 & failed by 1. :( + :p
At least I now know I need to read up/practise.

Dunno mate, I have only been riding a week :p

Do you know how long the theory test if you pass lasts?

Can I do the theory...get that out of the way then take my actual riding test in 12 months?

2 years IIRC.

Grab a CD and practise on that as there are almost 900 questions that they can use. I wouldn't chance it on a free test online as it'll cost you not only £31 for the test again + time off work but also the shame of failing :p

Ye theory (and CBT) lasts 2 years so get your DSA done before they expire :)

I failed mine first time by one mark after a week of good solid revision. I passed it the second time whilst hungover, so annoyed my first £30 was wasted.

Passed both practical tests first time though, makes up for it :D

A word of warning with the hazard perception test- make sure you click throughout witnessing the hazard- i failed for clicking to early and it didn't register that i'd clicked.other than that the test is easy. the hazards are obvious but it was the software that failed me :-(

Done mine not long ago even before my CBT, 50/50 on the questions and can't remember the hazard perception score but a comfortable pass I think. The official DVD was rather rubbish for perception though.

I remember when it only used to be 35 Qs + Hazard =] Those were the days lol

The test isn't that hard, majority are common sense with a few general knowledge and occasional tricky wording.

You should be fine if you just read the highway code and this book it's a great read and provides excelent information on safe riding, I'd recomend it to any bike.

Passed it. Multi choice questions were simple. I hated the hazard perception section as was worried I over clicked. Onto mod 1!
