Not sure if it's because I'm not used to them, maybe I hold the gear lever up too long or not long enough or something, but both the Superduke and new Street Triple quickshifters are nowhere near as smooth as I can gear manually.

They are so fun though :D

My missus preffered when I had the QS on as my gear changing isn't smooth apparently :p

They're no smoother than a clutchless upshift, but they take no skill to use so you never mess it up.

They are smoother than clutchless upshifts and traditional shifting, the official triumph one I had on my previous triple was great, they are effortless to use so no skill involved but are definitely the smoothest way to shift up.

Depends on the bike as well. Clutchless upshifting on my Bonneville is jerky compared to the Hornet. The Hornet is a dream, easily as smooth as any decent quickshifter when you get passed 3rd gear, and that's a 13 year old bike :D

I use the clutch 99% of the time, I might mess about with clutchless when I'm getting up to speed on the motorway but apart from that I prefer to use the clutch.

I can't clutchless upshift, I do it occasionally but it's only smooth half the time.

I'll get a QS on the tuono at some point and maybe even the VFR :D
Do from 2nd gear upwards. Even with QS 1st-2nd in clunky as hell without use of the manual clutch.
Also come off the throttle a bit when changing.

It's a good skill to at least get a basic grip of. I had to clutchless up and down shift after a lock nut worked it's way loose leaving me with no clutch control on a ride back from Brighton.

I used to clutchless upshift a lot, but my clutch is hydraulic and as light as a feather - so now I find myself just clutch shifting all the time, as when timed perfectly (due to habit), it literally takes no longer than clutchless upshifting.

Oh I know how to do it, but my brain has a mental block when it comes to doing the movements at the same time, it's really wierd!! I end up preloading the gear lever for too long. I'm smoother changing up normally than than I can clutchless.
