Roundabouts are interesting with a clutch cable broken you need to hold the traffic back until there is a gap happened on a sr250 and z500 for me a friend had a cable go in a gs550 we was 2 up hehe funny at the time but dodged 2 roundabouts on the way home not much traffic back then the same roundabouts now would be a little more tricky.

Finally pulling my finger out to get my old YBR MOT'd and sold, only problem is the mobile mechanic I was eyeing up to pick it up and take it to get it done has doubled their prices from when I enquired last year .

I suppose £65 is still cheaper than messing about insuring it for a day and having to deal with MCE and avoids me having to ride the horrible little thing but £35 was nicer!

I found clutchless shifting on the street a bit difficult to be honest, a lot harder than the sv.

The QS on the street, in any gears is perfect. If you find QS to be clunky for any reason, they are really meant for wide open throttle action, not for pootling about. Sometimes the QS can be a bit clunky when not on full throttle.

I really wish I could add pop and bangs to the ecu mapping for the QS, sounds awesome on a bmw s1000rr :D

A bloke that lives by me has a S1000RR and when he leaves his and goes down the dual carriageway the sound you hear makes you...... *DROOL* That QS sound is mad... if only it sounded like that on all bikes

K1300R with akro sounds awesome quickshifting, I just downshift to accelerate and upshift again :) Problem is to get the really nice upshift sound (9K+ rpm) you need to be going rather fast....

I will have to have a look on YouTube.. Never heard a k1300 with akras in person :D

I know right? I do them all the time, and are quite smooth, not as smooth as a proper clutch shift but no far off.

Rev match!! :p
Rev match on the SV is not as satisfying, as it is on an IL4 though. But it compensates with the pop flame bangggg :D
I didn't say they were? I said they are easy to mess up, there's a difference..
If you're messing it up, obviously they aren't easy for you. lol I messed up an upshift 4 times in total and I use clutchless nearly all the time when I go for a ride. The only time I don't use it, is in town.

When you are at full throttle it's easier to make mistakes as the throttle has further to go to disengage, that's why they are easy to mess up.

I don't do it very often as there's no need with the clutch being so light on the triple, doesn't beat a QS though.

I've missed riding my bike, the weather is supposed to top 20'c this weekend, any one up for a meet?

It's more satisfying for the same result :p

Sure, I'm going up the local mountains this afternoon. When can you get here? :p

Just watched some videos, sounds immense... I like the look of the K1300S, would be nice for me and the missus on lo g journeys

Have you tried clutchless? Its easier when you're on it squeezing every little drop of power you can get.

Yeah I've tried it, it's ok going from 2nd to 3rd at 4k rpm on the triple but changing from 5th to 6th at 10k rpm can take some getting used to, my next bike will have a QS fitted anyway so no need to do it. :p

Actually now that I'm in Munich, been thinking of exploring mountains just south along the austrian border - got any recommendations?

The whole "tail" of Austria (the bit directly south of you) is riddled with superb passes. It's hard to know where to start!
