What type of earphones do you guys use?

ive started to use google maps/satnav on my phone and using the bog standard in ear headphones that came with it but they just keep popping out or atleast one of them does (I use a necktube pulled up over them to cut most of the windnoise out) so need something that will stay in my ear better

I was thinking of some sort of clip over the ear type but not sure which to get??

it works well apart from that, though I do have to pull the clutch in to hear the voice directions over the exhaust:(

I bought a cheap Bluetooth headset and the speakers are placed behind the helmet lining. It means I can take phone calls, change tracks and still hear what's going on around me. I think that's a better solution for me rather than earphones although I can't hear anything above 50 miles per hour.

Shure se215 are good - seal well, have over-ear memory wire and are shaped well (no problems when putting the helmet on) and the sound is really good quality. The build quality is solid and they have replaceable cables.

I used Xiaomi Piston 3's a lot of the time with no problems. Sound quality was fairly ok and they're quite cheap too. Some people feel they don't seal as well as the Piston 2's but I found them much comfier.

Either shure se215 earphones, or a Bluetooth headset which will have the speakers in the helmet, there's a £35 one that is very decent for the money. Connects via Bluetooth and give radio/satnav/music in your helmet.

I don't think Bluetooth would work,I'd need them inside my ears for the best hearing, wouldn't wanna spend too much on a pair either, those with the plastic hook/loop look like they would stay on.in my ears better

Bluetooth will definitely work, I can hear mine with earplugs in, easily, but you have to spend the money to get something decent in my experience. That being said, if you just want it for audio from something, then people have found some really good cheap ones that work well (which might be suitable in your case).

Yeah my cheapo Bluetooth one works fine up to about 60mph, that's with earplugs in. No faffing about with earphones, it's always there to use.

There were those headphones that reduce the dB's, good quality of audio and are pretty cheap. They were mentioned in the 'do you wear earplugs' or something like that... too tired to search today though.

these dont work they get pulled off by your helmet.

the cheapo flat in ear ones work best (flat as in the old school mesh/screen instead of a rubber bud that goes into your ear canal tyope)

Thinking back, yes that'll work. I used my iPhone for satnav in my pocket (voice instructions are enough) with my old Apple earphones which didn't come out at all. Worked really well actually.

You can also use a Bluetooth receiver and use nearly any headphones.

I bought this Bluetooth receiver (it's also transmitter)

I tested the Bluetooth receiver at weekend on my bike and it worked really well with google maps app on my iphone via Bluetooth with some cheap sony inear earphones. But I decided to order these flat headphones and give them a try. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WQIPPO

Just don't wear earphones on your bike in France :-

Looks like more countries are making it illegal to use earphones on motorcycles.

Bluetooth headsets with speakers in the helmet are still fine though.

I'd get a bluetooth headset, I don't know how I'd do without mine now - just so much easier for satnav, let alone music/phone calls etc.

I will upgrade mine to a Sena 20S at some point (probably when my cheap chinese one dies!) but for now it's doing just fine. The 20s has a 3.5mm port so you can plug in earphones in place of the speakers for some extra fidelity too.

I've found them, not sure if anyone mentioned them before.

PlugFones and if you're and audiophile, you can always buy some of custom moulded earplugs off ebay and use your own in-earphones.
