I've been riding my SV650 for a year and a half now, and it still feels bloody quick to me, at least up to 70mph.
I keep looking on Autotrader at bigger capacity bikes and I badly want a big super sports, but all things considered, the SV is pretty much the perfect middle distance commuter. I keep coming back to the S1000RR as being the friendliest super sports for commuting, but I just can't get on with the look of its headlights. As stupid a reason as that is!
I think I'm tempted by two things about large capacity sports bikes:
- Lazy commuting
- Awesome looks
Neither are great reasons, but the desire's there.
The Tuono isn't a stupid power 1000cc bike, it's only 130bhp
Problem is, I want... no, NEED a v-twin, and there just aren't many 800cc v-twins about. The monster 821 which I test rode back in Novmeber 2014 was an awesome bike, and that's already 112bhp so 130bhp isn't a huge increase.
I've ridden the GSX-S1000, v-strom 1000, MT09, MT09 tracer, monster 821, think that's it.
Plus unlike some people *whistlesI have self control and don't go three figures everywhere

Try the TLR and VTRnone of what you have listed is like a v-twin sports
I'm not a sportsbike guy, naked is my bike of choiceBut the Tuono does have exactly the same engine (and chassis, and geometry, and everything in fact apart from the fairings and bars) as the RSVR sports bike, just with some minor changes to give some more low down torque.

Vietnam looks like a crazy, mental place.
Schaaf's an experienced rider, I don't know how someone who's never ridden a bike before would think hiring a scooter there was a good idea!
If a plonker like Jeremy clarkson can manage it anyone can
