Bikers Youtube thread

Cheers, I'm not sure about a tail tidy, people have been complaining they've been getting dirt spraying up their jacket when taking the old tail off :(

I've thought about changing it for the scorpion can, think it looks a lot better but I don't know how it sounds.

I don't rate the akra that much, charging over £750 at some places is ridiculous, I love the look and sound of the sc project but I couldn't find one when looking :(

If you're looking for value exhausts, have a look at SP Engineering. I got one for my Hornet, carbon fibre layer on top of stainless steel for £180 including stainless link pipe. Sounds amazing on my Hornet as the link pipe meant the cat was removed in the process :D

@Clov!s get SC Project, it looks and sounds naughty. The Leovince looks like the stock exhausts on older bikes... :/

Riders view:

tbh, the car was acting ******* with that speed, but the biker then decided to join in the macho display, and screwed up. No idea why he didn't brake?

The car suddenly slowed right down, you can see the gap to the car in front of it quickly growing as the bike approaches. The car slowed down so quickly, both as it approached the car in front and then again as the biker approaches that I would have expected to see brake lights but it doesn't look like they are working, another reason the biker underestimated just how much the car had slowed down.

Has anyone come off in biker jeans? I have a couple of pairs, Kevlar reinforced with knee armour... Just wondering how they hold up compared to normal jean and leathers.

Normal jeans are worthless, denim alone offers little to no protection in an off. It's why the jeans designed for it have anti-abrasion layers. I'm considering getting some Hood jeans with D3o armor inserts to use for more casual riding instead of wearing leathers all the time.

Go look at the pictures of damaged motorbiking jeans with abrasion layers, the denim is almost always worn through and only the abrasion layer visible.

Yeah I came off wearing Red Route jeans (with knee and hip armour) and slid a few meters down the road. I couldn't see any mark on the jeans (note that they were "stress look" jeans though) even though my boots were ruined so I'm pretty impressed.

One problem with jeans though is that they don't conform to your shape like proper fitting textiles and leathers do. This means they can move around when you fall off and cause some additional injury or move a knee pad away from your knee.

This hasn't happened to me, but it's something to be aware of. There is no way I could wear leathers in the summer heat here so it's a compromise I'm willing to make to wear the jeans.

Tefal came off in a pair of John Doe (IIRC) kevlar jeans at motorway speeds and said they held up very well.
