If I was in the market for a £10k supernaked it'd be on the list.

That was the most powerful bike I've ridden, 160bhp. Previously it was the 145bhp GSX-S1000.

The looks are marmite, but I haven't read a bad review yet, all of them are saying it's an awesome bike.

The closest rival is the S1000R at £10,350 for the base model, I've not ridden an S1000R but the MT-10 engine is ****ing awesome.

If I had £11,000 absolute maximum for a brand new 1000cc supernaked, it wouldn't be the S1000R. Probably wouldn't be the MT10 either tbh, It would probably be the Speed triple S (or the R in white if I could find a deal) or the Monster 1200. Exotic stuff like the 1290 superduke, Tuono 1100 RR and Monster 1200 S are too much, it's £13k for the base Tuono and nearly 15k for the factory, £13.5k for a Monster 1200s, and £14k for the superduke.

Obviously this is all just personal opinion, but as a fun, comfortable, well equipped (cruise control!) and very, very fast 1000cc supernaked with loads of character it does the job very well. Build quality not an issue either from what I saw/felt.

I've just bought a bmw r1200r and the engine is an absolute peach.

It has power exactly where you need it but it can still put a big smile on your face. They're about 12k for a well equipped model.

The engine on the MT10 could be great, wouldn't change the way it looks though...

I'd have an S1000R over it. Hell, i'd have a Speed Triple over it as well.

I've not ridden one but I hated the MT10 looks when it first appeared online but after seeing one up close in the flesh it's actually not quite a horrendous as I first thought.

They look and sound great, but the ergonomics are weird and the handling, suspension and brakes do not match the power output.

I really wanted to like it as I love the sound and aesthetics, but riding one inspired very little confidence when pressing on.

After a CB400 I'm sure it feels great to ride, but even my base model Street Triple is leagues ahead in handling and build quality.

Edit: While I don't normally care about tail tidies, I would definitely get one if I had an MT-10. That rear is horrendous!

Yeah the roads round there are great, the Moselle valley road isn't amazing but the roads out the valley are nothing but hairpins. Cochem was awesome, I had a few glasses of Bitburger in Murphy's irish pub (owned by an irish guy) while I was there.

That will have been a HGV/Artic with a full tank, which will have overflowed a little when they took the roundabout. There's one like that on my commute, right next to a petrol station, when it's wet it's normally covered in diesel. I never use the inside lane for that reason.

I never usually do, but that roundabout has 3 lanes and most people choose the middle lane because they don't know what they're doing, its generally safer and less annoying to take inside lane on that one lol, diesel being an exception of course...
