hi well i decided to build a new pc cuase i saw this --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-005-OC

and i thought i cant ever affford that and what am i gona do with all that power 0.0 so i thought i build my own one not as powerful :P

well here is what i put togeather :D
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000+ 2.10GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-202-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=803
Abit AN52 nForce 520 (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-130-AB&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=
OcUK 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-010-OK&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=813
Western Digital Caviar SE16 400GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (WD4000AAKS) -->http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-128-SE&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=768
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g) --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=AC-000-AC
Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case --> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-065-AN

ps i got monitor, dvd drive, speakers, key board and mouse :P

ok due to over clockers providing very little details on motherboard spec i had to find out was the moutherboard ECC which i still dont kno what it means but my m8 says it mattered :S

heres the problem, i getting a dual core AMD processor, and i belive that AMD didin't bring thier new arcitecture out so therefore the intel Core 2 duo is newer and faster, but the question is should i wait till AMD bring thier new one out and buy them or buy this 2.2ghz or buy a 1.6ghz core 2 duo from intel?

second thing this comes up to £250.2 and i am missing a PSU and graphics card, now these thing confuse the hell outta me and i am a casual gammer playing fsp and stuff from time to time and i will like to play call of duty 4 once i get my hands on it :D and my budget is £500 and i was wondering what graphic card and psu should i get with £250 and looking on the graphics card buyer guide i was thinking about the 8800 GT/GTS. but i not sure i need such a powerful graphics card...

finally this is like my second attempt in my life building a pc so is there any problems with it or any improvements i should make to the selections i choose.

this means i cant over clock AMD dual cores too?? wow i didn;t know that.... also i know very very very lil about over clocking all i know u raise the bus speed or something and it wilol generally raise the ram, cpu and all speeds....

ps u didn;t answer the biggest question WHAT PSU AND GRAPHICS CARD SHOULD I GET WITH £250 left.

Get an intel rig and clock it. The E21XX series clock to 2.8ghz + so you will be able to get a lot more performance for your money!

Can't go wrong with those.

& go Intel. The Core2Duo is currently top in performance, overclockability, etc ;)

Note that case is a dust-mite (i.e. attracts dust) :(

errrrr any way around that? or i just have to vacumme it more often? XD and should i get the 8800GT or does he mean gets both?

I would advise to get something like this, the 450w psu should be alrite. Very solid psu's:

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
(£39.94)

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2
(£37.59)

Corsair VX 450W ATX PSU (CMPSU-450VXUK)
(£43.46)

Abit IP35-E (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
(£64.61)

Intel Core 2 Duo E2180 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail
(£55.21)

EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
(£176.24)

Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
(£49.34)

Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS II Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS II
(£58.74)

Sub Total : £446.92
Total : £538.00

Its extremely good value for money, the cpu should hit 2.8ghz with that cpu cooler. Hope i helped! :cool:

ok that helped a bit but with that advice i gotten this list and which list should i choose ^ one or my one? also dont retail CPU come with fan and heat sink or is that one better?:
