Billed Twice by Moduslink for Vista Express Upgrade?

Hi guys,

Has anyone else been billed twice by Moduslink for 2 x £10.06? I've only got one copy of WinMCE2005 and registered itfor the express upgrade programme. I've been periodically checking back to the website and yesterday it said "order is shipped".

Am going to wait and see if they have sent me two copies of Vista HP :D OR just billed me twice by accident :mad:

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Seeing as yours now says shipped, did you receive any sort of email from them confirming that they had received your proof of purchase documents?

I emailed mine but have no idea if they got through ok or not.

I didnt receive an email, i just kept checking back on the website to see what the status was.

I've had
"pop validated"
"order apporved"
"order is shipped"

i believe that pop stands for point of purchase, but i could be wrong. I emailed my forms and posted them off. A week or so later, i got the first notification.

I've had no email saying it was dispatched. :-(

When did you submit your upgrade request?

I think that just means that they have authenticated your Certificate of Authenticity, which would have been in the begining when you register the OEM XP.

I bought my XP on the 28th Dec and delayed sending off the paperwork so that there was less chance that it would get caught up in Royal Mail's back-log of post etc. It finally went in the post about 5-8th January, which is probably about the same time as yours?

This suggests to me that they have not received your paperwork :confused: and thus your order has not progressed as far as mine?

Best thing i can suggest is to email them and also send off your paperwork - making sure u have copies before hand. That way, moduslink may be able to find the paperwork and carry out your order, or if not and they want the paper version, it's already en-route.

I emailed them scanned copies of all the paperwork, so I would hope that they have received it :p
 
Hmmm

I know that initially they had problems with an overload of emails, me being one of them too - wouldn't accept my COA as i used the "back" button in IE. Thankfully it did allow me to the next day.

I never received an email back from them, just my status got changed a few days later - which could have been because they validated the paperwork through the post and not dealing with the email attachments?

I know some people have had replies from emails they've sent but also many other people havent from what ive read.

I think there is a freephone number you can call to speak to someone, but im not sure what it is. I think it's in a thread in this forum tho if memory serves me right!?

Id recommended posting the forms recorded, resending emails with attachments and trying to contact them.

I'll have a look for the number and get back to you if i find it :)

Meh, I'm not too bothered if I get the upgrade or not to be honest. I might pop photocopies of the docs in the post and resend the email as well, see if that makes any difference.
 
dont even get me started lol.

I have emailed, them 3 times the scanned copies now.

Phoned them and they say its all ok,

But the order shows waiting for pop. The woman just said thats normal!!


Mines free though :confused: so maybe their sending the paid for copies first or something.

Bunch of mupepts really. if they receive the paper work, they should update the order which in turn should update their systems and show it to the customer.

Or so one would like to think :(
 
Wouldnt surprise me mate.

Found out from the website that supplies software to my uni that indeed MS focused on Office's Retail, OEM, Academic and then Academic SELECT, because of the profit margins and i've got to wait. Tho i dont mind waiting till begining of march to get Office 2007 Enterprise Edition for £78.73!! Gotta love being a student!

Datamonkey - have you posted the forms to them aswell or just emailed? Maybe worth posting them recorded in the meantime?

Nope havent sent the receipt off to them, :( looks like i may have to.

What a bunch of muppets, think they have taken on too much, thier a huge company. But their doing all the upgrades world wide.
 
omg the amount of issues I face daily at work with Moduslink. Half the customers dont even know how to fill it out or what buttons to click, half the time not accepting the COA numbers even..... Half the customers dont have an email even.... half of them begging us to email/fax over the reciepts. Half of them dont know where there serial number is!

They really should have just avoided the hassle and put a Self addressed Envelope with a leaflet to fill out and attach the reciept with or just attached the upgrade disc in the dam box lol
