Ive been having a few issues with net connection over the last 2-3 days with my router
it seems unable to sustain a stable net connection for any length of time.
i have since pluged in my old D-Link 504T router and this seems to have solved the issue so far.
the problem seems to have started when local council started to renovate my kitchen and bathroom. as part of this they have re wired my whole kitchen and during this the electrician managed to rip out my phone cable.
i had him re connect the cable of course but since then there have been problems with the router.
As part of digonostics ive rest the router to factory defults and re setup my connection details but it still seems to have problems syncing with the exchange forcing me to restart the router each time.
I can only assume that when he reconnected the phone line there has been a surge that has wasted part of the rom chip inside the router.
Also there was also no warning when he was truning off the power at the fuse box but this should not be of any concisquence as i use a good quality surge adapter Belkin i believe the one with £30,000 insurance if it fails and kills the PC.
Im looking for other suggestions on testing this before trying to claim for a replacement. Especially since i need the wireless side of the billion for my mrs laptop and the d-link dont have wireless, also i hate paying £150 for a router for some idiot to **** it up if anyones going to do that then it will be me
