Hi all,
I just thought I'd post a thread about this stuff as I originally heard about it in another thread on Overclockers. I bought some of this Deox-C stuff to recondition some Ford Cortina parts for my kit car after seeing some impressive pictures here.
I have two sets of front hub/brake assemblies that were so rusty it looked like they had been at the bottom of the sea for 15 years. So I diluted a load of the Deox-C in some hot water in a bucket and popped the parts in.
The result is amazing after just a few hours! The caliper looks almost like new and pretty much every trace of rust has gone. Here is a pic I took comparing the treated side to the non treated side (pic was taken after just lifting the parts out of the bucket, no cleaning):
I cannot recommend this stuff enough! I thought I was going to be hours with a wire brush in a drill for mediocre results, but I spent a couple of minutes chucking some bits in a bucket and got excellent results. Now I just have to recondition the caliper, get some new wheel bearings and put everything back together.
