Hi guys. Hoping I can get some advice please. Looking for the best performance laptop for BIM software, such as Civil 3D and Revit. Budget around £1500. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Brands I would consider: MSI, Dell, Lenovo.

Maybe look at Dell Outlet for refurbs. I say this because I think you'll need a laptop with a separate graphics card rather than integrated graphics, and they're not within your budget.

Dell Precision Workstation with the Nvidia ADA graphics. These are specially focused/optimised for those design packages.

To be fair, Nvidia Studio accredited laptops will also work (rtx3050-4050 upwards) but often have other compromises at the lower end ££ or you are over paying for the Ultra Portable format or high end format.

It's not like 10 years ago where if you didn't go Quadro over consumer gaming/onboard then C3D or Revit struggled.

Nvidia still drive the civils and structures design packages better than ATI or onboard alternatives, especially thanks to well matured drivers and architecture for these purposes.

You do lose the all round nature ie gaming going ADA but GeForce Now exists if that is on your horizon.
