Hi everyone,

My DVD player appears to be on its last legs (was a cheap 40 quid one) so I'm going to need a new one, I have a budget of around £100 and I can stretch to a little bit more for the right one. It needs to:

- Have a coaxial sound output thingy (technical term) to plug into my surround sound speakers

- Connect to my TV by SCART.

I have a 28" widescreen CRT TV, so nothing fancy.

Also if possible it would be good if it was Multi region. And I've seen ones that are sub £100 that record and play DivX as well, so I guess this is something to think about although not particularly important as I'd rather focus on something thats going to play my DVDs well first and foremost.

Thanks in advance :)

Matt

Not sure if id be allowed to answer as it might come under competition forum rules etc...

But have you tried looking at the ones overclockers stock?, Has anyone else bought one while we're on about it

Are they any good?

I have but certainly from what I've read in a few places the Lite-Ons have somewhat questionable reliabilty, so really I think I will steer clear..

BTW your only breaking rules if you tell me where to get one ;)

I'm just after model recomendations really... I think I will just pop into Richer Sounds during my lunch break tomorrow and see what they've got.
