lol, cant believe ive gotta ask this,

ive got a green bin, a black bin, and a tub,

what goes in where? ive been left to my own accord im 20 lol and i cant even work it out, and i dont want to be swamped in rubbish over a week, so what goes where, cardboard, plastic etc.

and when do i put em out, or is it different everywhere?

-Neoni

yes im silly.

The council will have provided a leaflet with the dates of which bins are collected when, and what to put in the tub for that week (ours is different each week).
Look for the leaflet my friend, it will guide you forth!

The tub will be recyclable stuff. The green and black will be non-recyclable rubbish and garden waste, but I wouldn't like to guess which is which as councils around the country can't seem to agree on that sort of simple thing.

We have a big wheelie bin, and a small wheelie bin.

Big one is for recycling, small one is for rubbish.

Rubbish every wednesday, recycling every other wednesday.

Will be diff for you though, as a street 5mins from me has a collection the next day.

What do I put in each bin?
The blue wheelie bin is for all food, drink and pet food cans, empty aerosols and household plastic bottles only – which have not contained hazardous substances.

The brown wheelie bin and biodegradable brown sacks are for garden waste, like weeds, grass cuttings, hedge clippings and small branches.

Kerbside boxes are for all paper and card, including telephone directories, junk mail, newspapers and all magazines, white paper, cereal boxes and paper back books. You can also use your kerbside boxes for cans and plastic bottles.

All non-recyclables should be put in your refuse bin for landfill (ie olive wheelie bin).

That's great, but the OP has a black bin and a green one, not a blue or brown one.

Top man thanks everybody, confusing world we live in, so many bins. i might just start the worlds biggest bonfire.

ill have to figure the colours out even though you have blue and browns

Make sure they're not overflowing/incorrectly filled. You can be fined quite a lot of money/get a criminal record. Well if you believe the papers you can anyway...

This is what i have done.

In the tub:
glass, and tins, some carton bottles the plastic cardboardy ones.

In the green bin:
garden trimmings.

Blackbin:
general household waste.

and behold i found 2 other bags.

One for plastic bottles.

and one for news papers.

More anonymity provided by posting on a web forum. If he asked his neighbours they'd all look at him through curtains and say "Ma, it's the boy who doesn't know his bins."
