Is there any Bionic client that makes proper use of the 7970's performance?

Currently it's sitting idle while I f@h smp, just wondering if another client has a good core that can utilize it fully. It's garbage for F@H currently.

downloaded bionic and using milkyway, is there a way to just use the GPU for milkyway, as I don't want it using the cpu threads reserved for my F@H smp? I put use GPU always in the options but my cpu usage is flashing 100% randomly and 0% gpu usage at the mo.

How do I turn the cpu crunching off? I selected only ati gpu in the website pref but it's still 100% my resources.

Nevermind, seems only the GpU is crunching now, using 1-3% cpu and 99% GPU, is that ok? As I want to use my cpu for F@H smp

Uh a bit confused. Currently my WUs are lasting about 39s and then there's a 2-3 sec gap yes. How do I add another WU ? then do I just pause it at 50% and leave the second suspended?

All going well. still getting my 17k ppd on F@H and got GPU maxed out for milkyway.

Problem I'm having now is when I've got Bionic running my internet goes from 4-5mb/s to 0.2mb/s and the dns errors on chrome/wireless cuts off.

I turn bionic off and network goes back to normal.

Any suggestions?

Seems to me ok now. It was definitely casuing problems yesterday and today it's fine when running :)

Do the points awarded in milkway correspond to points awarded in folding@home? Seem abnormally high. I got 100k in a few hours and it takes about a month of folding to reach that.

Also since this is the first time having my new gpu 100% for a hours, my pc case has got very hot. GPU is averaging 74c and the front of my case, under the dvd drive is burning hot for some reason. also my cpu temps have gone from 55c to 62c, I image because the ambient temps inside the case have gotten higher. Is this normal?

Using a CM storm scout and it has 1 exhust fan blowing out and one blowing in. In a cramped area beside my bed, so not much cool air flowing in :D

I was up to 34-36s yesterday, but have reset my OC to stock (1050) since I was getting driver crashes, and also the heat was a bit much with a volt OC. WUs now taking 41s , but I am watching videos and using my computer more, so I guess this variance is to be expected.

So Biffa does that mean a single 7970 can output as much as your MangyCours rig? 400k on MW vs 400k folding@home? Would love stanford to make a gpu client that was as good as the bionc ones, they really should be on top of it, since they're leading the distributed computing charge.

Gah ever since I installed bionc yesterday I've had nothing but hassle with my network. Eariler today I was running it fine, but now my network speed and latency has just dropped off a cliff. I've stopped running the bionc client and rebooted my pc+router and it hasn't restored my broadband speed.

I think the bionc client has changed my network settings or something, how can I fix this?

Think I've found out the cause of my network outage everytime BOINC is in use.....HEAT

My small PCI wireless card 1-2 inches above the 7970 and my router downstairs is fine, but my wireless network card above the gpu feels like it's about to melt. I assume that's the cause of the drastic dip in bandwidth when I'm running GPU MW@home ?

Got the case open now and temps have fallen and my network has gone back to normal. If I close it up and it drops off again it will most likely be the cause.

I can't connect to the net via other means since my router is downstairs and no upstairs line...

I guess I could underclock my GPU to lower the temps. Better than nothing?

yeah I just tried that out and it seems to work, setting my fan to 100% before I run the client and it keeps the temps, and the pc from getting too toasty and the network from falling off a cliff. Only problem is the racket
