BIOS and CPU-Z not in agreement

I thought I would have a first time crack at overclocking my Asus P5N-E SLI and Q6600 up to 3.0Ghz, it usually runs at 2.4Ghz. So I read a few guides and think I understand the basics ok.

I upped the FSB to 333 x 9 and the BIOS post is reporting correctly that CPU is running at 3.0 Ghz.

Everything seems fine and loads Windows ok except when looking in CPU-Z or Everest it is still showing CPU running at the stock speed 2.4Ghz as if nothing has changed. I thought I had forgotten about SpeedStep at first but this has been disabled.

Any ideas please I am bit confused?
