Hi All

Currently built a new PC and for some reason the bios and windows only detects 4GB of ram when i have 6GB installed, However CPUID detects all Modules. Wonder if anyone could help please.

Spec
I7 920 DO
Asus Rampage 2 Extreme
Corsair Dominator GT 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C8 2000Mhz
ATI5870
Windows 7 Pro 32Bit

I have tried all the modules on there own and seem to work ok and chamged some voltages around in mobo mainly QPI/DRAM to 1.3 and DRAM to 1.65 and that did not work.

try a bios update (for bios detecting all the ram).

also with 32bit windows you only utilise 3.25gb memory and if im not mistaken that includes your graphic card too. Might be worth getting 64bit with that gear fella.

That's your problem right there. As stated above a 32 bit OS will only be able to address 3.2 gb of RAM

I understand that but the BIOS does not recognise the other module as well i can install a 64Bit O/S anytime i want.

After more experimentation after reseating CPU and moving the ram around i found out that is is slot c1 which is not been detected.

Everythings the latest. Now the motherboard wont even post switch it on nothing on the screen.

hmmm... on OCuk page, your mobo states it only supports 1800(OC) ram. however on the actual asus website it states its 2000(OC) ram. Yet when you click on overview(asus site) it goes back down again to 1800(OC).

I'm not too certain but by the look of things, it makes out that you have the wrong ram for your mobo, I presume the OC stands for actually having 1800mhz that is overclockable not that it supports 1800+. Can any1 who has this motherboard clarify this bit please.!?

The board sets the memory at 1333mhz anyway. would have over clocked when i get everything stable but board is in for RMA now anyway,

I tried everything huge thread on asus forums did not help. Board would not post in the end so had to RMA it today.
I do have Vista 64Bit (ultimate Edition will use that) I was just checking what windows 7 was like.
