hi there,
having just managed to get my 4300 up to 3ghz and oc'ed my 320mb 8800gts. (with only a few small problems)
then after a week of perfect use i was just on the internet when a blue screen popped up and everytime after that when i tryed to switch it on there is just one long continuas bios beep that deosnt go off till i switch my pc off at wall.
the motherboard is a asus p5ne-sli so is the pheniox bios.
if anyone could help me as to what this one long beep means, it would be much appreciated as i can not find out anywhere.
cheers mark

Check your motherboards manual for what different beeps mean. When you switch your PC on, can you access the BIOS at all, and try to put your 4300 back to stock clocks?

i have checked all the codes but there is nothing for just one long beep. it wont even go into bios to fiddle about with settings.
i have no other system to check parts in either as the only other comps i have are agp's and athlon A's or 754s.
i have reset the cmos but no change either.
any advice on what i should do?
cheers mark

yeh tryed new keyboard and mouse in it, defo not that. :(
i was hoping it might be the hard drive as its a crap one anyway but would i see a bios if it was the hard drive that was dead?

Tried starting with just one stick of ram in? Try each stick individually and in different slots.
If still no go try starting with no gfx card in and see if you get the beep code for gfx error.

Try taking out all your devices and seeing if the beep code changes...

If it doesn't then that would suggest a borked mobo, if it does change then reintroduce the devices one by one until the long beep happens again - then the lasts device you attached is the culprit.
