So i was looking through the BIOS options and saw a drop down box to make the boot "Ultra fast", and its not in use, should I use it? or is it bad for the system:)

Its not bad, the only thing is getting back into the BIOS should you wish to change something could be impossible, so requires a clearCMOS as it boots so fast you dont get a chance to hit the DEL key.

Ah ok cheers broski, you seem to be the biggest help for me ever since i joined these forums XD always on!

If its a gigabyte board there is a utility called fast boot which lets you turn it off in Windows if you turn it on in the BIOS so you can get back into it again with the DEL key

I imagine other manufacturers might have the same.

I use Ultra fast its great, to get back into bios you just hit the Fast boot app, and then hit the Enter Bios Now button. Alternitavely just shut down the system and turn it off at the wall, this also cancels fast boot.

I only use fast boot cause im using an old SSD that isnt supported by z97, it allows it to skip the driver which causes crashing on boot.

edit: just tested it vs normal boot and ultra fast boot, made no difference to boot time so i guess its a pointless feature unless ya need it to get something working.

Takes about 10 seconds to boot no matter which option i choose.
