I have a evga 980ti and gigabyte X99M mobo.

I have recently added a 4K tv as a second monitor using hdmi. I also have a dell monitor using display port.

When I boot up I get no splash screen and the bios only shows in the tv.

It's a minor inconvenience but I was wondering if I canchange some setting so that bios is displayed on the dell

I have the same issue now and again but the primary does provide me with the login screen. I've not really looked into the BIOS options for monitor preference, if there even are any, but it doesn't bother me atm.

Not sure how that helps but I appreciate its a slight annoyance.

I've had this before - I believe it's o do with the order of output by the gpu and can't be changed (I did search!) so you either have to live with it or switch cables. I am using DP for gsync and HDMI so the only way to work around it is to switch screen 2 off or unplug (hdmi) before booting.

As far as I know, this is something that is set in the video BIOS, and unfortunately HDMI has priority over display port. Maybe worth looking in to getting a modified vBIOS?

People definitely fiddle about with these things and I'm sure someone, somewhere on the internet has done it, it's just a matter of finding it. A little risky though, unless it's really a pain I'd just stick to the unplugging/turning off the display method.

Solved it, thanks to Tomshardware site, I disabled CSM Compatibility Mode.

Now I am note sure if this is a good thing to do or not but now the bios shows on the dell monitor
