Got some 7950 Vapor-X, though only my other halfs has arrived as yet.

I noticed when putting it in the PC that it has 2 x 8 pin connectors. Knowing this was not standard for even 7970's, I went to the Sapphire site, and it looks like it's using the 7970 GHz Toxic PCB, as even the "regular" 7970 GHz has 1 x 6 pin + 1 x 8 pin.

Think there would be any benefit to flashing toxic BIOS? Or am I more likely to cause issues?

Come to think of it, I should check in gpu-z to make sure wasn't sent toxic by mistake somehow, but I doubt that will be the case.

Edit:
I don't think this will magically give me 6gb memory or unlock all shaders or anything. Just wondering if might allows for better OC maybe?

Well, that didn't work. Just ended up with screen corruption :(

Only wanted it because, as I suspected, Sapphire have voltage locked the card and I wsa only after the voltage on the toxic bios.

Bit miffed that they have voltage locked the card. I can get up to 1125 with what I think is stock voltage of 1.087 (but may be 1.05), so am sure could have reached 1200...

Out of the 2 cards I ordered for myself (before realising they would never fit in crossfire), on of them has the 1 x 6 pin + 1 x 8 pin config, the other has the 2 x 8 pin connectors.

Makes finding BIOSes that people have used successfully with unlocked votlage very difficult with all these random vapor-x 7950's.
 
There was a guy here a couple weeks ago that purchased your card with a voltage lock. He emailed sapphire and was told to download the very latest trixx. Funny enough it allowed him to adjust the voltage . Hope it works for u my friend good luck.
 
Already downloaded the 4.4 beta... didn't seem to help.

One other issue I have with this card - noise! I honestly expected it to be a fair bit quieter... :(

strange how it worked for the other guy but not you mate. His was voltage locked until he downloaded the latest trix. That's bad luck :0

With noise don't worry about it my msi tf3 sounds like a Hoover past 70% fan speed lol. How are your temps with that oc and what's your fan speed?
 
Looks to be hitting about 70C.

Not spent huge amounts of time with it yet. Will do more playing tonight, and hopefully find a way to get voltage adjustment working.
