Hey guys, I've upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8.1. I do like the new os and how it ran. Until I went to overclock.

I never got this issue on 7 but I get it on 8.1, Whenver I set my CPU to 4.5ghz and 1.36v which is what I was running on windows 7, it just loads up and hangs on bios. Over and over, Sometimes it gets into windows repair screen, restarts and hangs in bios again.

Is this the silly software 8.1 has conflicting with my mobo/whatever?

Am I missing something?

One of the errors:

No one got any ideas?

I've found two modes on my bios. One for windows 8 and the other for windows 8 WHQL or whatever it's called. Will this help?

that error is gpu or gpu driver related so could be your graphic card not liking uefi?

theres something labelled legacy mode for your peripherals or gpu I cant remember in the bios, might be worth setting to that and see if it boots ok

I don't understand why it wouldn't like this. It works fine, 100% in all games when I do not overclock CPU or Memory. But as soon as I overclock any of them I get bios hangs, sometimes that error sometimes memory errors...

using latest NVidia drivers? it can only be win8 since it was fine on win7

how much memory you running? touch more cpu/vtt might help over stock 1.05v maybe 1.08v?

(id forgot that it was fine till you came to oc)

Latest nvidia drivers are installed.

Am running 4X 4GB of memory at 1866mhz or trying too...

My cpu/vtt I increase to 1.1 instead of 1.05. CPU I overclock from 3.4 to 4.5 with 1.36 volts which worked in windows 7....

try touch more cpu/vtt maybe 1.15v? max safe is 1.2v but you shouldn't need that much

also test with ram at 1600mhz see if it still crashes
