Hi guys I have the Gigabyte DQ6 mobo and downloaded the F6 version and simply double clicked it and it came up with some options which I executed and left me with the files: P35DQ6.F6 and CW.ERR.

Does this mean the BIOS has been updated? How do I know which version of the BIOS I am running I don't see any options in the BIOS to see this... first time using Gigabyte :(

Thanks in advance, Pikkon

Should be a version number in your bios somewhere. Download an App called CPU-Z (its only small), it says the bios revision under the "motherboard" section.

Cheers mate. Using CPU-Z it says verision F4 is on, but having just executed the F6 file shouldn't it have updated the BIOS?

Thanks fellas its done, couldn't see the version number during POST as it was too quick but updated BIOS via the old fashioned USB method :)

Version F6!

In some BIOS's (Gigabyte i'm more than certain), CTRL + F1 usually brings up advanced options relating to overclocking, memory speeds etc. Worth a try

Yeah I read that somewhere too but at the moment I have messed around with the CPU frequency and memory FSB which is running quite smoothly at the moment but I am going to make a new thread about Overclocking with this board, i.e. things like should the voltages be kept as auto or manual...
