Morning all...

Just swapped a 2500k out for a 3770k on a GA-Z68XP-UD4 (rev.1.0) running F6 BIOS which supports Ivy chips but will only OC to 39x...

Had a google and it seems that Gigabyte released U1L(UEFI BIOS) that fully supports Ivy overclocking but when I try to flash through Q-Flash it fails and gives me 'BIOS ID Check Error'

Any ideas?

To flash these, you need to make a bootable USB drive (i.e DOS) with the BIOS file and the included flash utility on it, Qflash or @BIOS will not work (there is a flash utility in the works to fix this).

Enter your boards BIOS and check the USB device is the first bootable device, save+exit.

Then at the command prompt you type in FLASHEFI ***BIOS filename*** and let it do its thing, then follow the instructions given to you when its done.

The reason why only this way works is you are totally changing the BIOS from Award to AMI versions, so it s a total clear/wipe and write.

I thought so... Once flashed and power cord disconnected I tried to fire it up and it wouldn't do a thing!
A reset CMOS and left it unplugged for 5 and then when I tried it again it finally worked...

Thanks for your help, time to OC now :)
