Bios Issue! (pics included)

So I've got a fairly old PC...

Intel Dual Core E5300 2.6GHZ
Asus P5Q PRO
8GB DDR2 RAM
Windows 7 Professional 64Bit
XFX 4850 512MB
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB

Now this is used all the time, I don't game any more, just literally surfing the web.

Now every time I switch the dam thing on the Bios resets itself, thus changing the time on the system, boot priority etc. When my elderly mother powers the PC, tries getting on the internet it wont work as the date is like 2002 which Google Chrome blocks any surfing due to a security reason

I've checked for a Bios update however nothing for a motherboard that old....

Full system scan via Avast and still nothing!

What can I do, please help

Change motherboard battery?

You switching it off at the wall? Don't do that, and change the motherboard battery. If it's that old, it's probably out of juice.

Yep, sounds like a dead BIOS battery, cheap to replace

Errmmm why cant you switch it off at the plug?

I've been doing that for years.

That miniscule current means your battery isn't having to keep the clock and motherboard settings when it's powered off. You probably wouldn't have even noticed your battery was dead until the next time you unplugged it.
