BIOS Long time to report memory speed and size with cold POST only

My apologies, I already have a thread about this but it's in the mobo section and I don't think that my problem is necessarily mobo related.

First the spec of the machine in question...

I5 760
2x2gb corsair 10600
GTX 470
Gigabyte P55a UD3
64gb SSD
1tb WD black
DVD writer
Wireless network card

I can't get the exact specs as I built it for my dad over a year ago and I'm not with the machine.

The problem is pretty straightforward: from a cold start, the machine posts the mobo details and CPU details but then takes about 30 seconds to report the ram speed and size.

This only happens on cold boots. When I say cold, I mean the machine has been left to cool down for at least 15 minutes.

If I cold boot after a minute or so of leaving the machine off after it has been on for a while it posts at the speed i would expect. At restart iit flies through post so fast I can hardly read the CPU and memory details.

I have updated the bios and tried every combination of settings from failsafe through to the proper overclock with correct voltages to get the ram to 1600mhz.

Memtest86 finds no problems with the ram.

One point I was keen to examine was the graphics card. It isn't reported at post. Should it be? Every machine I have ever built reported the graphics card at post from what I can remember.

Once the machine is running it works perfectly but this is annoying as the superfast SSD os loading is negated by the post issues.

I didn't have time to pull everything out and test with ram and graphics only and I intend to do that on my next visit.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks a lot.
