bios/mouse

Hi ppl.
My question is simple but so infuriating. How can i get my mouse to work on my Asus Maximus Formula vii?The reason i ask is that the bios time and date are set as the manufacturers time and date,I.E 00.00 1/1/2009.I can't use the arrow keys for whatever reason as it just will not highlight the date function.Any help would be gratefully received.
As foot note i know it's not the cmos battery at fault.Thx ppl

It might be the keyboard.

When did mouse support in the bios come out?
Been so long since I had a board where the bios didn't
Support using a mouse I don't remember
But bios didn't always support one

If it has USB it will/should support the mouse.

Doesn't setting the time/date in windows automatically copy over to the BIOS? I'm reasonably sure it does. I've never manually set date/time in BIOS on any of the PCs I've built going back 20 years. Why do you care if the BIOS has the wrong time/date anyway? As long as it's correct in the OS everything will work fine.

I have since had pc looked at and mobo is knackered for want of a better term.So looking into getting a pre built one now.
