BIOS Password help

Hi there,

How can you remove a password from BIOS?

Im trying to help out a friend who has a password on thier BIOS. We are trying to change the boot menu so we can boot from a CD.

have you tried taking the battery out, for how long, i dont know
then putting it back, it should reset the bios i think

30 seconds should do it, it's also a good idea to disconnect the PSU from the motherboard while your doing it. Depending on the motherboard it might have a jumper you can use instead of removing the batery.

Another option is to get googling, there might be a universal password that'll unlock what ever it's set to.
