Hi, i have a easynote ts11-hr and have got myself locked out due to bios password!!!

I had pw on and wanted to remove it so went into bios in appropriate section put in current pw and left new password section blank....mow it still asks for password but its neither blank or the old one!!!

Have had problem on laptops before and there was a cmos reset method that involved shorting out two point under ram slots as it was booting up...but cant seem to find any info regarding this model.

Anyone able to help?? :)

cheers in advance :)

Cheers will try that but not hopefull as normaly they have a jumper that needs to clear it as loss of power makes no difference to the bios chip...doesnt need power to retain data.

cheers though :)

ok wee update...was just about to dismantle and saw two points under the ram slots marked "J1,J2" thought mmmm i wonder.

So i had battery out no power in and shorted them out with screwdriver for a few seconds...boom password gone!!!!

And packardbell support were going to charge me £55 inspection fee plus labour to fix it as they insisted there was no back door password or way to reset a "forgotten" password.
Money grabbers

"Pleasant" message heading their way i think.

Hope this helps someone out in future...would post picture but its so obvious i dont know how i missed it the first time i looked :)

Now i can get on with the reinstall at last :)
