Yeah! same as taking it out sends it back to the original bios the board came with (along with the default settings) saved me a few times being a spoon with computers!
(only good advise if your doing somethign thats legal though.... otherwise weer having nothing to do with this..... probably)

Just got a new well old machine from work and its got the bios locked and it wont boot so im wanting to have a play around with it.
Its not strictly a pc but pretty much one
As said just take the battery out for a couple of seconds and put it back in that will sort it, well it works when ever I have had people come to me with the same problem they forget there passwords after fiddling with bios settings.
I will not touch a PC until I see proof of ownership.
