Hi I have had a problem with my Asus board and I am pretty sure now its the board itself. A7n32-sli deluxe
The other day my system would not boot until I reset the cmos to 2-3 and removed the bios battery. Pressing <Insert> I was able to boot. The minute I either restart within windows, press the <reset> switch on the board, or restart in windows, the system will not post. Cold booting does not help either.
when it doesnt boot devices like the USB keyboard does light up. I know the motherboard is partly working. The bios even saves settings and updates ok irs just I cannot restart or cold boot.
I have swap tested the VGA, Power, memory and even reflashed the BIOS back to an ealier date, Using the Asus update utilty, I had 2 6800s GS in there and tried a different card from ATI. I tried changing the PSU from the hiper to a generic one
I currently have the system out on an Anti static mat, not in the case, I am using it right now. The minute I restart I will have the same problem. I will need to remove the battery power off, restart and press insert again, I need to let it discharge for about 5 minutes.
Is it a chip on the mobo thats gone, or the bios, its something not starting up or remembering some settings. Is there anything else it could be?
