BIOS Problem ?

Hi everyone,

Weird problem here with my new build.

Got the Gigabyte DS4, E6600 Conroe, and 2Gb of the Geil Ultra Low Latency Ram other day.

Now im still on the BIOS it came with (F3), but im having an odd problem with my DVD writer, i can use it fine to install games and stuff, but i cant burn with it, when i try to burn using Nero, Nero keep saying that its being used by another program (my Writer that is).

Any ideas, do you think i need to Update the BIOS to solve it, ive been looking at the new ones, and theres only 2x left, F6 adds quad core support (which im not bothered about yet), but F5 says :- Update ICH8 AHCI ROM to version 1.07 , dunno what that is, so could that be why.

Its not the drive as its only a few days old, and it was working fine in my old rig when burning, and it cant be the cable, as all i had to do was plug it into my new board when i installed it as i have a mobo tray that slides out the back, so all me drives etc... can stay plugged in.

Any ideas thanks.

Also my other DVD drive (normal one) works fine also, both connected using the IDE btw.

Nope BIOS is not the problem, its damn Nero, ive just converted and burned using DVD Santa, and that worked perfect. :confused:

Ive tried re-installing Nero as well, but it does the same. :confused:

Using latest version of Nero? An older version may not support your drive properly, just a guess.

Yeah im using Nero 7 now, and all is well, its funny as i was using Nero 6 before with this drive on my old set-up, and it worked perfect, so god knows why on changing the motherboard it decided not to work anymore. :confused:

Oh well nevermind im sorted now.
