BIOS problem

When I turn on the PC, I press "del" to enter the BIOS durinf the POST (which is fine). It says, entering setup bu then goes to a blank screen and does not progress any further. Even without presssing anything to get to Windows, it still stops and doesn't progress with a blank screen. Any suggestions on what i can do greatly appreciated. Happy Christmas.

I would try clearing the CMOS for starters.

Clear the CMOS with the jumper usually near the motherboard battery, just make sure you have unplugged the power first. If that changes nothing repeat the same step but also remove the battery and replace after 2 minutes, that sometimes helps. Report back here what happens.
