Hi all, firstly im sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe, which ive had since december 2004, and ive never updated the bios.

I have downloaded ASUS Update, but for some reason i still can't update it.

It says "The model of the BIOS image does'nt match the BIOS ROM currently present. Press [EXIT] button to EXIT.

Now i know didly squat about updating BIOS, and ive been told this is the easiest way, but how do i do so when i keep getting this message?

Any help would be welcomed as im desperate to get this thing updated.
Thanks!

I am certain it's an A8N SLI Deluxe

I think my BIOS revesion is as follows.....
ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE ACPI BIOS Revision 1002

try downloading the file again and copying it to another floppy, sometimes it doesn't download or copy properly and it causes problems.

If you cant get the Asus live update to work from windows try the ASUS EZFlash option. Im sure you have that feature on your board.

D/L the latest bios from the Asus Site then copy it to a floppy. I think you may have to rename it but you can find more info on the Asus site about that. Then while booting up press Alt & F2, that will bring up the EZFlash menu. Follow the instructions from there. If you have the official manual for your board that will detail how to use EZflash fully.
