BIOS reading temps differently?

Looked in my BIOS for the first time today and I noticed my BIOS was reading temps different than core temp.

I have an i5 2500 on the stock cooler.

In the bios it says my temps are this:

Core temp says:

Why is it showing different temps? And the ones shown in the BIOS seem to be a lot higher than normal?

Thanks

Temperatures shown in the BIOS are higher because none of the energy saving features are enabled.

The processor is running faster in the BIOS than it is when idling in Windows.

FYI if you want your Base Clock to be 100MHz then try disabling "Spread Spectrum" in the BIOS.

Ignore the BIOS temperatures unless they show something stupidly high.

Concentrate on the temperatures when in Windows, load temperatures being the most important.
