BIOS reset

Hi,
I want to overclock my cpu, with AMD's overdrive facility, but can only do this if the BIOS fan settings are turned off.
When i remove the bios battery, i can then switch on my pc, enter the bios and change settings, then save them. But when I come to turn off the pc, then back on again, these settings have been reset. This is also clear as my USB keyboard cant be used to enter BIOS and I cannot enter BIOS again until i remove the battery again. But the time, and date and all drivers are still present when i boot up which makes me thing that it isnt the battery that is the problem, it is something else. This has happened from day one of receiving this computer (like 2 years ago), its only now that i want to overclock and am held back by this. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H.
Thanks in advance, for any help given.

May I suggest you flash your bios to the latest bios.

Before you do read up on how to flash your bios using the bios tool found on the last tab in your bios. Do not use the Windows application.

The bios flash should sort your problem out.
