BIOS resets

It's strange, I've noticed whenever I take out or replace a component like the gfx card, my BIOS seems to reset and I need to go in and change my settings back.

What could be the reason for this?

does seem a little odd but it doesnt really sound faulty. It might just be some sort of safety feature where it resets everything to maintain stability or something, what mobo do you have?

seems a couple of peple have had problems with it resetting, this guy basically reseated his cpu and it went all rage mode with him.

sosme people suggest replacing the mobo battery, it might be worth a try.
