I just put a new 512mb DDR333 2.5 memory stick in my laptop (Asus A6G) which already had 512mb (also DDR333 2.5). Windows refuses to start with the new stick in. I tried it on both slots, by itself and with the original.
If I have both in, the laptop boots up, the ASUS logo comes up and the screen goes black where the windows xp progress bar would come up. If only the new stick is in, then the laptop doesnt start at all.
No beeps are heard. When both sticks are in, if I look at the BIOS settings, all looks normal and system memory shows as 1024mb.
Any ideas?
