Hey everyone,
I'm running a basic Asus board, the M2A-MX, and rececently it's been playing up. I did a BIOS update which went fine, all was working as it should, but then recently it started taking a lot longer posting. It hangs for about 30 seconds on something like 'Initiating USB' or something like that, I'll get the accurate quote when I'm at the machine. It's never run perfectly, used to get upset if you turn it on and off too quickly, the screen would fuzz, would reset itself etc. It's just such a drag to change operating systems, as it's basically doubling my boot up time. Any ideas guys? I might try updating the BIOS again, see if that helps. Cheers, Chris.

My ASUS board hanged on USB INIT when RAM timings weren't quite right when I was overclocking. Is your OC stable?

Make sure you've cleared the CMOS using the jumper or by taking the battery out, then re-apply all settings.

If it persists, it may be a device connected to your system, try unplugging everything not needed (including keyb/mouse) and see if it continues, if not, replug items until it does.

Hey guys,
I'm not overclocking at the moment, I turned it all down for testing and never bothered to change it back, since it didn't make a difference. I will double check, but I'm pretty sure that the RAM is at factory clocks in the BIOS. I'll try the unplugging route as well, and take the battery out. It's done it before, but it fixed itself. Weird. Cheers, Chris.
