Is there a command to run a BIOS update on my Advent 4211? It had an issue reloading Windows on to it, so I put Linux on a while ago. It doesnt hold charge and a lot of people had an issue with Advent 4211 and updating the BIOS worked for them.

I know very little about Linux, so need a command line to run to update it somehow.

Can anyone help?

Three steps to do this:

1. Locate and Download the latest bios firmware (make sure this is correct - so use manufacturers website and then double and triple check)
2. I'm not familiar with your bios but usually the safest approach is to do this on boot! i.e. make a disk with the new bios and just after post do a bios update.

e.g. The way in which I perform an update:
I download a bios specific to my motherboard / laptop etc...
Put the bios on a portable USB drive
Restart the laptop/PC
At POST screen I issue a command, e.g. hit F3 for bios upgrade
System detects USB drive
System updates bios
