I have just assembled a new system with a Ryzen 5950X and an Aorus Elite X570 but it will not post. Was wondering if this could be because the BIOS requires an update to support Ryzen 5000?

A little more info:
No LEDs or fans spinning at all when pressing the power button, which makes me think it may be some other issue but just wanted to rule this out.

Welcome to the forums

There could be a number of reasons for this:
1. 8 pin EPC not connected correctly
2. PSU shot
3. motherboard shorting on the case (most likely suspect)
4. Loose ATX Pin

With point 3, I would take the board out of the case and build on the motherboard box to test it'll boot.

However, in relation to your BIOS update, yes it should be done but get it to start first but it won't stop the PC from powering on.
